When I first got home from my mission I noticed how
stressful it was going to be to become financially stable as a young college
student. I needed to find a job that would provide me enough money to not have
to worry about work while going to school full time. I didn’t really consider
summer sales to seriously until Cassandra’s cousin started talking to me about
his experience in Milwaukee selling scripture DVD’s. I started to get really
excited as he told me a few digits, and let me in on how much money he made
that summer. Booko Bucks! That’s when I decided that this was the path I was
going to take. I figured that because of my mission I had become a rather
proficient salesman, at least in some regards.
I knew this would be different, but I also knew that I would exceed.
Then started my search for which company I would sell for. I first met with the
guys from The Living Scriptures, and was initially impressed by their sales
pitch, and the atmosphere of the company, but couldn’t get around the fact that
I felt like I was selling the gospel, and that just wasn’t fly with me. I then
met with someone from Moxy, a popular pest control company, but just didn’t
feel like it was the best sell for me. After that I met up with the husband of
one of my life long classmates. He worked for Vivint, and it didn’t take long
for me to notice that this was the best option on the market. The company was
extremely well established, very proficient at training and preparation, and
they flat out took better care of me from step one. So I decided to go with
them. This is my plan for the summer: move to Longview Texas, sell lots of
security alarm systems, get rich, come home and get married. How could it go
any better?
