Yesterday was Easter, and I have to admit that it didn’t
really feel too much like a holiday at first. I was alone at my apartment, and
my family was in Florida for spring break visiting our cousins. I texted my
brother, and told him Happy Easter, then asked him if the Easter bunny came to
them in Florida. He responded “Unfortunately not…It’s the first time the Easter
bunny hasn’t come in 24 years…lame.” To be honest this is what I was hoping
for. I had created a diabolical plan to steal the Easter bunny’s job. After
church I went up to Cassandra’s house for Easter dinner, and we had a little
hunt for our Easter baskets at her house. Then we played some games, and talked
with her family. We really had a great time. My family was supposed to be home
around 9:30 pm, so at about 8:30 Cassandra and I left her house, and headed to
mine to set up Easter for my family. We got them some candy and small gifts on
the way home, and set them up in our living room. We hid candy eggs all through
out the house, and decorated the whole place with our traditional Easter décor.
Cassandra and I had a great time setting up, and it was truly worth it when my
family walked in and saw that the Easter bunny had come. My mom was near tears,
because it said to her that I really appreciated all the years she had done it
for me. Which is true. I can’t wait for Santa to come visit my future kids.
Doing service for someone else is really the best way to put yourself in a good
mood. It’s been proven.
