I live at Raintree Commons in Provo, not too far from BYU’s
campus. It has been good living here. I have pretty decent roommates, and we’ve
had a good time. Just this last week we received a notice on our door saying
that all residents must be packed and moved out by April 27th, which
is precisely the end of the semester. The notice continued, saying that the LDS
missionary training center was attaining all of Raintree Commons as housing for
their new influx of missionaries. I thought that was really cool that the
missionary force had expanded that much to the point that they have to acquire
8 new buildings. I’ve been thinking, trying to figure out what the Church is
going to do, and I believe that they will probably put all the Elders at
Raintree, and keep the sisters on the official MTC grounds. That way they can
keep the boys and girls separated and avoid any problems that could potentially
arise. Who knows though? Anything could happen. I just thought it was
interesting. It doesn't really affect me much. I'm moving out for the summer regardless, and I'm getting married. So my stay at Raintree was coming to an end at the end of April either way. My real life is about to begin.
