Every child needs a male and a female role model. There are
certain gender cues that we can only be learned from our mother, and others
that can only be learned from our father. Regardless of how you look at it, we
need both.
The relationship between a mother and her children is one of
the strongest bonds known to man. This relationship starts with the mother’s
carrying of the child for nine months. She begins to grow a very strong and
deep love for all aspects and needs of her baby as she adapts to a different
life style in order to make sure that all of her actions and choices are
beneficial for her child. When the child is born, he or she needs nurturing. A
mother’s gentle, loving touch is unforgettable for any child. I am so grateful
for the soft, warm hugs that only my mother could provide. She is part of my
heart, and always will be.
As the child grows he needs someone to teach him to survive.
He needs to learn how to “rough it” when necessary. The father is a profound
example to all his children of how to be bold, powerful, and hardworking.
Fathers provide a protected environment for his family in the home. From our
fathers we receive a calm feeling of security. My Father is the hardest-working
man I know. He gets the job done, the first time. From him I learned the
importance of ambition, intelligence, and mental strength. I needed both my
parents. I needed a mom and a dad.
